This is Gonna Hurt

I finished the book This is Gonna Hurt By Nikki Sixx. What a amazing book. I really enjoyed this and the pictures are amazing. He is really talented. If you pick this book up with out know much and looking at the pictures and you judge it by that alone and think he is one crazy guy . You are missing out. He is a crazy guy but he has a point. And he makes it by explaining himself and the pictures. By the end of the book I was looking for different things in the pictures then what I thought I was seeing. He made me open my eyes to some of the things I was doing. For a book to do that was a great gift to me. So now that it is signed by him only adds to the book more. Nikki you are one amazing guy. Great Job with the book. His whole point is don't judge someone or something by what they look like.

Bottom line, this book is amazing! It's part photo chronicle and part journal, and will be accompanied by the release of an original soundtrack from SIXX AM in May. If you like Nikki, you'll love this book. The stories and pictures capture all of his creative qualities: his love, rage, optimism, darkness, and determinism. It basically covers his life from the struggles of his youth to the success of Motley Crue, to his OD on heroin, through his struggles with sobriety, and to his love of music and photography. Nikki said he wants to "take you on the journey" he is on, and he succeeds. Raw and powerful, fascinating and intriguing are words that come to mind when turning the pages. The image quality is exceptional, and they are both beautiful and scary. They successfully tell the story of a man struggling to survive, connect, and find a happy ending. Nikki incorporates stories behind the pictures and includes interviews with his subjects so you can see "what life is like for those whom society has labeled as freaks." This includes a woman who can't grow, a man over seven feel tall, and a naked obese woman. All in all, this book makes you react, which is what I think Nikki had in mind when he created it. Highly recommended!!!!

In this, his second book, MÖTLEY CRÜE and SIXX: A.M. bassist NIKKI SIXX aims "to show people life through different-colored lenses," and that he certainly does by way of photographing "the oddities in life." In fact, nearly 150 photographs of amputees, midgets, drug addicts, prostitutes, the obese, the disfigured, the homeless, and the generally decrepit - all shot by Sixx - are featured in this lavish 220 page book. Ultimately, this is Sixx's "struggle to make people see that different isn't always bad." The accompanying text is comprised of personal life lessons, journal entries and musings on sobriety, creativity and music. Lies of Beautiful People -SIXX AM

Sixx AM just released their new song. Lies of the Beautiful People. Their New album is out May 3rd. It sound like it will be another cool album. The First video below is just a sample of the what is to come. The video below that is the video for the song and has some of Nikki Sixx Photography. (Some Images not recommended for kids or some people) Nikki has a twisted sense of life and it shows in both his music and photography. But he has a point that Beauty is with in. His book This is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography, and Life through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx is a available April 12. His other book The Heroin Diary: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star Is out now. I have read the Heroin Diary. Surprising I liked it. Maybe not a book for everyone. But I can't wait for the book and the CD to come out.

I was given this book by April a couple of weeks ago. I have never heard of this book before. but when I started I thought it was very exciting. I thought this book was very interesting and a different view of the way the world could be. The author is from Salt Lake. She has two more books to come out in this series.

I been reading The Vampire Academy Novels and the newest one was Sprite Bound. This is book 5 out of 6. the 6th one comes out Dec 7th. I really enjoyed this book (granted I liked them all so far) I don't want to write to much and give anything way (My sister still needs to read it) Here is Amazon product description of it.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

I just bought this new book from Stephenie Meyer (Twilight Saga)
You can read it free on June 7th at BreeTanner.com This follows a character in Eclipse and How she fits into the Twilight universe. I have not read it yet but I will read it after I am done here. Then I will let you know what I think. A while back I also got Twilight the Graphic Novel. It was like a comic book. It was fun to read and see how they can turn a novel into a comic book.

Update: I finished this book a couple of days ago. I have been busy reading. I loved this book. I wish it had a little more history about Bree and the other vampires but it was still good. I fit in with Eclipse really well. Just remember the book is free for only a month. so check it out.

Blood Promise, and others

I get the new Vampire Academy Novel when it came out on the 25th of August. I was wondering what Richelle Mead was going to do next. This one was good. but I liked Frostbite and Shadow Kissed better. This one seems to drag out a little in the middle. I won't go into too much detail since my sister wants to read it and I don't want to give anything away.





I have been reading a new series from Adrian Tchaikovsky that Kim from work has let me borrow.
The first one was The Empire of black and gold. It was also good. I am on the second book Dragonfly Falling. Both are a Sci-Fi Novels. If you love fantasy, Sci-fi, war books. you may like this book. There are 3 in the series and have just began the second book. This is a new take on Human and apdationg to the world around them. People take traits from diffent insets, Kike wasps and ants,They are not out in the US yet but you can order them from Amazon. so don't go looking for theses in your local bookstore. Again I don't want to give anything away to give a chance to the reader to find out with out adding my thoughts to the mix.




The next is High Voltage Tattoo by Kat Von D. This book as you can guess is for who like to know about Kat Von D or Tattoo. She goes into her life for a little bit and what tattoos she has and what the mean. And She had a lot of Tattoo's. She gives tips and separetes fact from fiction on differnent myths about Tattoo's. She also gives credit where it is due and let people know about other artist in the business. She talkes about her show and some of the tattoes she has done on or after her show. There are some really good ones.

The Heroin Diaries, A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star

A Friend at work gave me this book to read. At first I was like, I don't want to read this. It is very different then what I am used to reading. I am not really into the whole drug thing. Caryn keep telling me she is not either but to see what this guy went through was totally amazing. I though since I listen to the band when I was a kid, I would try it.

It is about Nikki Sixx ( Bass player and major song writer to Motley Crue) When Motley Crue was at the top of the charts and had a major following Nikki was in his personal hell. He live up to the Sex, Drugs and Rock in Roll. He has found his personal Diaries that he wrote at the time he was really into Heroin. Put them in this book to People can see what his life was like during this time. He died twice before he finally got his life under control. He goes in to personal counts of when he was younger and living in Idaho, Texas, and Seattle. Also there are people in is life at the time giving accounts of what they saw. People like Vince Neil, Tommy Lee, Mick Mars (all Band members) to Slash, Alice Cooper, Rick Nielson, ex mangers, ex girlfriends and family members. People though he would not live to see his thirties. The book is Written by Nikki Sixx and Ian Gittings

I am still in the middle of this book. While some of the pictures are a little on the weird side. and some of the entries are a little sick. To hear him in some of his entries deal with not just fame but being alone. You feel sorry for the guy in the first entire. Some of the entries have hit a little close to home. Not that I am in to drugs but I have had friends that have and what happened to them. Makes me think that my life is really good. But I do have an addictive personality and could see what would happen to me if I got started doing anything like that. ( Good thing I have a good head on my shoulder and learned to stay way from this stuff) But it makes you stop and think about what could have happened. Maybe not a crazy as his life, but down the drain like his life was. I was very surpised to see myself get into this book. I though I would have a hard time with it and not liking it all. I never tried any kind of drugs. I have been asked to acid once but turned it down. I was curious to see what something like that does without doing it. I alway wondered why would people do this when it make you do crazy things. Now I am very glad I didn't do anything like that.

He is now Sober and Clean. He is a family man with 4 kids. He still is involved with Motley Crue, song writing. He also does things is film, clothing line, photography and has another band (see Below) The money he gets for this book goes to help runaway kids at a charity he set up the Covenant House. Midnight Sun

I have heard from the Stephenie Meyer web site that some one posted a copy of midnight sun on the Internet without her knowledge. She has said that midnight sun is on hold indefinitely. It is sad one person has ruined it for the rest of us. But she has very right to be upset and I can understand why she does not want to write this book now. I was very excited for this book to come out and read about twilight from Edwards side. I hope some day she will change her mind and can be able to write it and get it pulished. I am very excited for the movie to come out. To the person that is responsible who i am sure did not mean any harm knows they have ruined it for the millions of fans who were waiting for the book to come out and are very disappointed that they will not be able to see it on the self next to the rest of their twilight books.
