Craters of the Moon, EBR1

I went to Craters of the Moon with Michel, Michel, Tallene, Mac, and their kids. It was a lot of fun. I got to go to EBR-1, For those who don't know what that is. It is the World's First Nuclear Power Plant. We went on the guided tour. It was fun to go around and see all the differnt things. We got to go into the controll room and play with all the buttons. Then we went out to the top of the reactor and got to see some of the Blanket and other parts of the reactor. Then went outside to look at some of other things out there.

After that we drove up to carters Craters of the Moon. It was really hot there. We picked the hotest weekend to go. but it was still fun. When I was little we went there at the start of one of our family Vactions. We walked up this big hill. to look out and get pictures taken. Michel was runing up and down the hill and from what I was told (because I had the story wrong) was that I wanted to do it to. So I started running down the hill. My problem was I was going way to fast and could not stop. Everyone was afraid that I would fall and being Craters of the Moon is that if I did fall it would have been very bad. But I made it to the bottom. Granted I ran right into the car. that was the only reason I did stop.



My brother wanted to go up that hill this time. No I didn't run. I was surprised I made it to the top. It was a lot more difficult then I remember. But then I am also out of shape and really I didn't need a large hill to tell me that. But Once I made it to the top I found the same tree from the first time. But we took a family photo by a different tree.



Then We went to the some more place to look around. Then meet a Tour guild to go into one cave. then went to two more. The places got to be really dark when everyone had the lights off. And the temp difference in the caves then outside was really nice. The first cave was very easy to get into and walk around in. The Ranger had some fun facts to share and was nice enough to take pictures and he was even in one. We had a good size group with all of us one man from Salt lake who did a lot of rock climbing. We passed him three different time after that. going in one cave or out another.

After a fun day of hiking he headed back to Idaho Falls.
