Daytona 500

Today was the start of the Nascar season with the Daytona 500. I went over to my brother's to watch the race. He had wonderful food and I had a lot of fun. The race took about 8 hours to get through. They had a 1 hour and 25 min red flag (stop the race)to fix the track with 79 laps to go then with 39 laps the red flagged it for another 30 to 50 minutes to fix the same spot again. My 3 drivers were doing well. Gordon lead a couple of times and Joey lead 1 lap as well. But when the restarted my drivers went down hill. Joey was caught in a couple of wreaks and finished 20th and he was the highest. Jimmy Johnson had two flat tires and ended up 23 laps down to finish 35th. Gordon who was in the top ten most of the race was in a wreak on the last lap and ended up 26th.

Congratulations to Jamie McMurray for his first win today. He drove a great race. Dale Jr came in second. Followed by Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, and David Reutimann was the top 5. Next week Fontana Ca.
