Remolded Bathroom

Last week I had my master bathroom redone. I had a leak in the shower cold water handle. I didn't know about it for a long time and over time I got major water damage. The cost to fix the handle was only 75 dollars but the damage to the floor was major. as you can see from the the first couple of photos how bad it was. I called the same guy who redid my kitchen last year. I really liked the kitchen. He came and gave me a estimate a couple of months ago and with the money I had saved plus with the money from my tax return we got started a couple of weeks ago.

We had to cut out a big part of the sub-flooring where the leak had routed out by the shower. TJ had said we caught it in time. that if it was worse we would have to take the shower out the wall and the outside wall. That would have been major repairs and way over my budget. but he said he felt under the shower by the way of the panel and said it felt solid. He said he would put in extra support around the base of the shower. if you look in the second picture under the shower there is a piece of carpet then a board. that board was wet and swollen. that is the board that need the extra support. you can see how wet the wood was so Greg let me borrow one of his fans from his house and we let it sit over night and I slept in the spare bed room. There was one problem that I had to deal with when I came home for lunch to make sure they had everything and to see what the damage was. Thanks to Greg who was very flexible in letting coming and go those couple of days when TJ was working on the floor. so I didn't lose to much time off work. Then next day TJ came back over and got started on the floor.

When I got there the first day I was told I didn't get enough flooring. I went back to Wall 2 Wall and got credit for the first flooring I bought and then told them what I needed and then the Lady was telling me how much I would need if I wanted it I one piece. She told me it would not fit in my car. I called TJ and he said he would pick it for me.

The next day I came home at lunch to make sure he got the flooring okay and He told me that i have enough flooring to redo the bathroom, the other bathroom and still have a lot left over. so I went from not enough to to much. But I have a Friend at work that may buy some, and TJ will give me a estimate on what it will cost to put some in the other bathroom so I can get the carpet out of that bathroom also.

For not have a piece of the carpet with me the second time I think I did a really good job. He add molding around the walls and the tub.

TJ still has a couple of little things to finish up. the handles on the tub. A timer i want replaced into a switch and there is a entrance way piece that he will put the last piece of Pergo down by the front door. He will do that sometime this coming week. And then when I get the money saved up for the other bathroom then that will be my next project.
